Jack McAninch, MD received his undergraduate BS degree at the Texas Tech University, an MS degree from the University of Idaho, and his MD degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch where he was an honor graduate and recipient of the Gold Headed Cane Award in recognition as the outstanding graduating senior. He received his general surgery and urology training at Letterman Army Hospital where he was recognized as the outstanding Resident Trainee and received the Robert B. Skelton Award. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and joined the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) faculty in 1977. He served as Chief of Urology at San Francisco General Hospital and Vice Chairman of the Department of Urology until 2014. Currently, Dr. McAninch holds the title “professor emeritus” at UCSF.
