Director, Center for Reconstructive Urology
Dr. Joel Gelman is a Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of California, Irvine where he is the Director of the Center for Reconstructive Urology. Dr. Gelman completed his Urology Residency at the UCLA Medical Center in 1995 and a Fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Male Genitourinary reconstruction in 1997 at the Devine Center in Norfolk, Virginia under Dr. Gerald Jordan. Dr. Gelman’s practice has always been exclusively devoted to surgery of the male urethra and external genitalia including male urethral reconstruction, hypospadias surgery, correction of penile curvature, penile prosthesis placement, and complex penile and scrotal reconstructive surgery. Dr. Gelman has authored numerous papers and book chapters, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Society for Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS).
