Dr. Averch graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and went on to complete his Urology training at New York Medical College. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Endourology at Johns Hopkins Hospitals. Dr. Averch is currently Vice Chair for Quality and Professor of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and is the Director of Endourology. He is currently Vice-Chair for the AUA Quality Improvement and Patient Safety committee. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
