William Brant

Biography William O Brant MD FACS FECSM

Dr. Brant grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, attended Dartmouth College and the University of Washington, Seattle for undergraduate and graduate schools, and obtained his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residencies in Surgery and Urology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and then pursued a fellowship in sexual medicine and surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) under the direction of Dr. Tom Lue. His fellowship focused on medical and surgical treatments for penile disorders, including plastic and reconstructive issues in penile deformities and erectile dysfunction, as well as prosthetic surgeries for erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence. His clinical research focused on issues in Peyronies disease, priapism, erectile rehabilitation, and vascular reconstructive surgery.

After fellowship, Dr. Brant was in a private practice in Vail, Colorado and had a teaching appointment with the University of Colorado prior to moving to the University of Utah, where he was a tenured associate professor of surgery prior to leaving in 2017. His practice is dedicated to sexual medicine, male urinary incontinence, penile reconstructive surgery, and prosthetic surgery. Additionally, he has extensive experience with microsurgery including vasectomy reversal (vasovasostomy and vasoepidymostomy), varicocelectomy, and denervation of the spermatic cord.

He currently divides his clinical practice between his private practice with Summit Urology/Granger Medical Clinic and his government practice at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he is Chief of Urology. He is a member of multiple medical organizations, including the American Urological Association, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the Genitourinary Reconstruction Society, and the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons. He has authored over 100 works, including various chapters in multiple textbooks of Urology.
