Dr. Amin earned her medical degree at the University of Buffalo and completed her Urologic Surgery residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (New York, NY) from 2012-2017. She completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery/Urogynecology. Dr. Amin is double board certified in Urologic Surgery and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS). She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine since 2019. Dr. Amin independently led the application and accreditation through ACGME to certify University of Miami with the only URPS fellowship in South Florida, for which she is now Program Director. This is a unique ABOG/ABU approved fellowship consisting of a combination of Urology and OB/GYN trainees. Dr. Amin’s research interests are in pelvic floor disorders, specifically in stress urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and overactive bladder. In 2022, Dr. Amin was one of two awardees to receive grant funding through the University of Miami Calabresi Clinical Oncology Research Career Development K12 Scholar Program to understand the effects of Aromatase Inhibitors on the Genitourinary Microbiome in Women with Breast Cancer. Dr. Amin has had success in obtaining additional funding for projects with a focus on cancer survivorship, including the proposal of the Survivorship and Pelvic floor InterventioNs (SPIN) Program for women with bladder cancer.
